Audio/Video Call Fix - Nov 28
This morning we received reports that some incoming audio and video calls were showing a blank screen, with no audio or video from the caller. Outgoing calls continued to work normally, but certain devices could not display the incoming stream.
This behavior began appearing after a recent update to our calling system. The update introduced improvements to how call setup messages are handled, but it also surfaced a compatibility issue with some older versions of the Hearo app. In those cases, the app was unable to interpret newer message formats, which prevented the incoming audio/video stream from being established correctly.
At 2:45PM CST today, we deployed a server-level patch that immediately fixes this for all tablets, without requiring them to update first.
